Job Overview
Clicks Group is seeking a Qualified Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant to join its dispensary team at Clicks Setsing Plaza. The successful candidate will provide pharmaceutical care services within their scope of practice while supporting the day-to-day operations of the dispensary in accordance with the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
This role is ideal for a qualified pharmacist assistant who is committed to delivering excellent customer service, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Provide pharmaceutical care services within the approved scope of practice.
- Deliver high standards of customer service and patient care.
- Assist with efficient stock control and medicine repacking.
- Perform dispensary administration accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and compound medication accurately where applicable.
- Provide customers with general health advice.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and merchandise presentation.
- Carry out additional duties based on operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, pharmacy regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics (essential).
- Registration and qualifications that meet the requirements of the Health Professions Council of South Africa for a Qualified Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant.
- Eligibility to practise as a Pharmacist Assistant in accordance with relevant professional standards.
Knowledge and Technical Skills
Successful candidates should possess:
- Knowledge of over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and health products.
- Understanding of pharmacy legislation and professional regulations.
- Knowledge of SAPC requirements and legal compliance.
- Basic pharmaceutical calculations.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with business operating systems used in pharmacy environments.
