    Job Overview

    CBRE Excellerate is seeking a qualified Electrician to provide electrical maintenance services across client facilities in the Free State. The successful candidate will ensure that electrical systems are maintained safely, efficiently, and in compliance with statutory regulations while coordinating contractors and supporting facility operations.

    The role also includes conducting preventative inspections, responding to emergency call-outs, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and maintaining high standards of health and safety.

    Key Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will:

    • Carry out general electrical maintenance and repair work at client premises.
    • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
    • Manage and coordinate contractors performing electrical and mechanical maintenance.
    • Conduct preventative inspections to identify faults, maintenance requirements, and potential risks.
    • Monitor compliance with Contract Agreements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
    • Complete digital job cards, reports, inspections, and maintenance documentation.
    • Respond to emergency breakdowns and participate in a 24-hour standby roster.
    • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and SHEQ standards.
    • Provide regular progress updates to the Operations Manager, Administrator, and clients.
    • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and operational efficiency.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must have:

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an electrical maintenance environment.
    • A recognised Electrical Trade Test qualification.
    • A valid Wireman’s License.
    • N3 Electrical qualification.
    • A valid driver’s licence.
    • Proven experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems.

    Knowledge and Experience

    Successful candidates should have:

    • Experience managing and coordinating electrical and mechanical contractors.
    • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance principles.
    • Knowledge of Facilities Management (FM) policies and procedures.
    • Sound understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act), SHEQ principles, and statutory requirements.
    • Experience conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
    • Basic report writing and administrative skills.
    • Computer literacy, including the use of smartphones and mobile applications for job cards, reporting, and inspections.
