Objective
To appoint a qualified service provider to conduct inspection, servicing, testing, recharging, certification, and maintenance of fire extinguishers and associated fire protection systems across MAP Water sites.
The aim is to ensure full compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and improve fire safety management.
Scope of Work
The service provider will be responsible for:
Servicing, testing, and recharging fire extinguishers (1kg, 2kg, 5kg, 9kg)
Sprinkler system servicing
Inspection and replacement of defective components:
Valves
Hoses
Seals
Gauges
Certification, labeling, and reporting for each extinguisher
Record-keeping and compliance documentation
Fire equipment maintenance across multiple sites
Technical Requirements
The appointed service provider must:
Conduct inspections and servicing in accordance with applicable fire safety regulations
Replace defective parts where required
Perform pressure testing and recharging as per standards
Issue certification for each extinguisher serviced
Maintain proper labeling indicating service dates and compliance status
Provide detailed reports for all serviced equipment
Compliance Requirements
All work must comply with:
Section 8 – General Duties of Employers
General Safety Regulations
ISO 45001:2018 (Clauses 8.1 and 8.2)
Skills & Qualification Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate:
Proven experience in fire extinguisher servicing and fire protection systems
Qualified and competent personnel for inspection and certification
Knowledge of applicable fire safety and OHS regulations
Ability to issue compliance certificates and detailed service reports
Compliance with ISO 45001:2018 requirements
Administrative Compliance
Valid CSD registration with CSD summary report
Valid Tax Compliance Status (TCS) certificate
Proof of no arrears in municipal rates and taxes
