Job Description
The Central University of Technology is seeking a Professor: Marketing Management to join the Department of Business Management at its Welkom Campus. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and learning, research, postgraduate supervision, academic leadership and community engagement.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop academic material and lecture in allocated subjects.
- Teach, assess and support students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Conduct and publish research in the relevant field.
- Supervise Master’s and PhD students.
- Lead and manage externally funded research projects.
- Participate in national and international conferences.
- Contribute to academic administration and leadership.
- Participate in community service and engagement initiatives.
- Contribute to research evaluation activities as an editor, reviewer or external examiner.
- Build relationships with professional, academic and industry communities.

Minimum Requirements
- A relevant SAQA-approved Doctorate-level qualification, such as a D Tech, PhD, D.Ed., NQF Level 10 qualification or equivalent.
- At least 8 years’ teaching or lecturing experience in the relevant subject field.
- Evidence of advancing knowledge through research outputs, postgraduate supervision and national/international conference presentations.
- Evidence meeting CUT’s applicable promotion requirements, including research outputs and postgraduate supervision.
- Experience supervising completed Master’s and doctoral students in the combinations specified by CUT.
- A record of 19 cumulative conference presentations/papers, including at least 6 international conference presentations/posters.
- Experience leading or managing an externally funded research project.
- Experience as an editor, reviewer and/or external examiner.
Recommended Requirements
- Peer-reviewed publication record in the relevant field, including evidence such as an h-index or i10-index.
- Active participation in a relevant research community.
- Evidence of obtaining local or international research grants.
- Higher education teaching qualification.
- NRF rating – an added advantage.
- Ability to lecture at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Engagement with professional communities and wider society.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.
- Relevant industry experience.
- Professional registration, where applicable.
Salary & Benefits
- Minimum Salary: R1,386,806 per annum (Total Cost to Company).
