    Job Description

    Medi Clinic Bloemfontein is seeking a Unit Administrative Assistant to provide essential administrative and operational support within the Surgical Unit. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of unit processes, accurate recordkeeping, and efficient patient administration while maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform general administrative duties within the nursing unit.

    • Assist with patient administration, including admissions, discharges, and documentation.

    • Manage and control pharmaceutical stock to ensure accurate inventory levels.

    • Provide an efficient reception service, including handling queries and directing visitors or patients appropriately.

    • Maintain accurate records and data capturing on relevant systems.

    • Support the nursing and clinical team in maintaining operational efficiency and compliance.

    Minimum Education Requirements

    Essential:

    • Grade 12 (Matric) with computer literacy subjects or an additional computer literacy certificate.

    Desirable:

    • Training or certification in Reception, Secretarial, Personal Assistant, or Administrative functions.

    Experience Requirements

    Essential:

    • No minimum experience required.

    Desirable:

    • Prior administrative experience in a healthcare environment will be an advantage.

    Key Skills and Knowledge

    • Strong recordkeeping and documentation skills.

    • Knowledge of patient administration systems.

    • Understanding of compliment and complaint management processes.

    • Proficient data capturing and reporting abilities.

    • Excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal communication.

    • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

    • Familiarity with stock control and inventory management procedures.
