     It is best suited for qualified academics, researchers, or experienced educators pursuing a PhD.

     Job Description 

    1. Research & Publications

    • Conduct:
      • Qualitative research
      • Quantitative research
      • Mixed-method studies
    • Analyze data and write research reports
    • Publish at least 2 academic papers per year

    2. Project Leadership

    • Co-lead research and education projects
    • Design and implement research programmes
    • Evaluate project outcomes

    3. Academic Supervision

    • Supervise postgraduate students
    • Support research assistants and interns
    • Contribute to postgraduate training

    4. Academic Contribution

    • Participate in:
      • Conferences
      • Policy discussions
      • Academic collaborations
    • Contribute to international research and partnerships

    5. Institutional Support

    • Work with faculty teams
    • Help achieve academic and research goals
    • Support strategic objectives of the university

     Key Responsibilities 

    • Conduct and publish research

     Requirements & Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    You must have ONE of the following:

    PhD (Doctoral Degree) in Education (NQF 10)
    OR
    Master’s Degree (NQF 9) + currently studying towards a PhD

    PLUS:

    • Teaching qualification (e.g. BEd or Diploma in Education – Science subjects)
    • At least:
      • 5 years school experience OR
      • 2 years in higher education/research
    • Experience presenting at academic conferences
    • Evidence of research writing/publications

    Recommended (Advantageous)

    • Published academic journal articles
    • Experience as a school principal or deputy principal
    • Experience in community-based research
