Job Description
1. Research & Publications
- Conduct:
- Qualitative research
- Quantitative research
- Mixed-method studies
- Analyze data and write research reports
- Publish at least 2 academic papers per year
2. Project Leadership
- Co-lead research and education projects
- Design and implement research programmes
- Evaluate project outcomes
3. Academic Supervision
- Supervise postgraduate students
- Support research assistants and interns
- Contribute to postgraduate training
4. Academic Contribution
- Participate in:
- Conferences
- Policy discussions
- Academic collaborations
- Contribute to international research and partnerships
5. Institutional Support
- Work with faculty teams
- Help achieve academic and research goals
- Support strategic objectives of the university

Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
You must have ONE of the following:
PhD (Doctoral Degree) in Education (NQF 10)
OR
Master’s Degree (NQF 9) + currently studying towards a PhD
PLUS:
- Teaching qualification (e.g. BEd or Diploma in Education – Science subjects)
- At least:
- 5 years school experience OR
- 2 years in higher education/research
- Experience presenting at academic conferences
- Evidence of research writing/publications
Recommended (Advantageous)
- Published academic journal articles
- Experience as a school principal or deputy principal
- Experience in community-based research
