Job Overview

Job Description
1. ICT Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement IT infrastructure strategies
- Plan long-term technology improvements
- Align IT systems with university goals
2. Infrastructure Management
- Oversee:
- Network systems
- Servers and data centres
- Telecommunications
- Data communication systems
- Ensure systems are stable, secure, and efficient
3. Operations Management
- Manage day-to-day ICT operations
- Ensure quick resolution of hardware/software issues
- Maintain system performance and uptime
4. Security & Risk Management
- Implement ICT security measures
- Protect systems from cyber threats and data breaches
- Ensure compliance with IT governance standards
5. Staff Leadership & Development
- Manage IT teams and staff performance
- Train and develop ICT personnel
- Lead and coordinate technical teams
6. Systems Support & Optimization
- Improve system efficiency and performance
- Oversee upgrades and new technology deployment
- Ensure continuous improvement of ICT services

Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Information Technology
- Computer Science
- Information Systems
- 8 years’ relevant ICT experience
- At least 5 years in ICT infrastructure management
Preferred (Advantageous)
- Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8)
- 10 years’ ICT experience
- 8 years in senior IT management roles
