Job Overview:

Clicks Group Limited is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Pharmacy Manager to lead the pharmacy team at Clicks Setsing Plaza. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient dispensary and clinic operations, delivering high standards of pharmaceutical care, and achieving sales, service, and compliance targets in line with Clicks’ commitment to helping people feel good and live better.

The position reports directly to the Area Manager.

Key Purpose:

To ensure the efficient operation of the dispensary and clinic through effective leadership, professional pharmaceutical services, and operational excellence — delivering high-quality patient care and achieving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence & Compliance

• Ensure accurate, ethical, and safe dispensing in compliance with SAPC regulations and Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) standards.

• Manage daily operations of the dispensary, including stock control, shrinkage, housekeeping, and administration.

• Ensure adherence to Clicks’ operational procedures, merchandising standards, and legal requirements.

• Maintain compliance with all legislative and SAPC requirements as the Responsible Pharmacist.

Financial & Business Management

• Ensure the financial viability of the dispensary through effective cost and stock management.

• Drive the achievement of dispensary and clinic sales targets.

• Monitor and manage expenses to ensure profitability and sustainability.

People Leadership & Development

• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of pharmacists, assistants, learners, and interns.

• Implement performance management and continuous training programs.

• Manage workforce planning, scheduling, attendance, and HR records in compliance with labour policies.

Customer Service & Patient Care

• Promote customer loyalty through excellent service and healthcare advice.

• Manage customer service initiatives to ensure a positive customer experience and drive ClubCard participation.

• Integrate pharmacy and clinic services to provide a complete health solution for customers.

Strategic & Cultural Leadership

• Align pharmacy operations with Clicks’ vision to be the customer’s first-choice health and beauty retailer.

• Foster teamwork between store, clinic, and pharmacy teams.

• Cultivate a high-performing culture focused on service excellence, compliance, and results.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Essential: Registered Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).

• Essential: Minimum 2 years’ post-community service experience.

• Essential: Minimum 1 year of people management experience.

• Essential: Registered as the Responsible Pharmacist with SAPC.

• Desirable: Experience in Retail Pharmacy.

• Desirable: Working knowledge of Unisolv system.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

• In-depth knowledge of SAPC regulations and pharmacy legislation.

• Strong understanding of ethical and compliant pharmaceutical practices.

• Proficient in stock, cost, and risk management.

• Excellent patient care and customer service orientation.

• Knowledge of labour legislation and industrial relations (IR).

• Strong financial management skills and business acumen.

• Proficient in MS Office and pharmacy management systems.

• Skilled in coaching, leadership, and team management.

• Competent in planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
