The successful candidate will contribute to academic excellence by delivering high-quality lectures, supporting students, and ensuring effective tracking of module performance. Job Purpose
The Lecturer will be responsible for delivering lectures, preparing students for assessments, supporting at-risk learners, and engaging with academic administration requirements. The role also includes contributing to programme quality by analysing module performance, participating in academic meetings, and completing professional development activities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning

Deliver lectures in line with module requirements and module pacers.

Engage students actively in class (online or face-to-face).

Manage academic resources and collaborate with the Information Centre.

Update the Learning Management System (LMS) and give timely feedback to students.
Assessment & Student Support

Prepare students for assessments and ensure alignment with Central Academic Team (CAT) briefings.

Identify at-risk students and implement interventions.

Monitor assessment submissions and escalate where necessary.

Track student engagement and provide academic consultations.
Academic Administration & Quality Assurance

Reflect on, analyse, and review student results for assigned modules.

Assist the Programme Coordinator in tracking module performance and identifying “at-risk modules.”

Attend and participate in faculty and academic meetings.
Professional Development

Complete required academic professional development activities each academic cycle to support teaching excellence and professional growth.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Office Administration (NQF Level 7).

Honours degree (NQF Level 8) is an added advantage.
Experience
-
1–2 years lecturing experience.

2–3 years industry experience in an Office Administration or related environment.

Working Hours
Part-time: Hours depend on module allocation and institutional timetable requirements.
