Job Summary

Matjhabeng Local Municipality seeks to appoint a short-term insurance intermediary for a period of three (3) years. The appointed service provider will act as an intermediary between the municipality and insurance underwriters, managing all short-term insurance needs, claims, and risk management services.

Objectives

• The main goals of this tender are:
•  Provide professional short-term insurance intermediary services
•  Manage and administer all insurance policies for municipal assets
•  Ensure proper risk assessment and risk management
•  Handle claims processing and settlements
•  Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations
•  Provide ongoing advisory services over a 3-year contract

Scope of Work

• The service provider will be responsible for:

1. Insurance Brokerage Services

Act as intermediary between municipality and insurance companies

• Secure appropriate insurance cover for municipal assets and liabilities

• Provide insurance advice and risk management recommendations

2. Policy Management

Manage all policy renewals and changes

• Provide insurance schedules and policy documents

• Ensure proper documentation and compliance

3. Claims Management

Assist with claim submissions and follow-ups

• Negotiate settlements with insurers

• Provide claims reporting and tracking

4. Risk Management Support

Perform risk assessments

• Recommend risk mitigation strategies

• Provide advice on insurance gaps and coverage needs

Technical Requirements

• Bidders must:
•  Demonstrate experience as an insurance intermediary
•  Provide proof of registration and professional credentials
•  Show capability to manage municipal insurance portfolios
•  Provide proof of compliance with insurance regulatory requirements
•  Meet functionality requirements as specified in the tender document
•  Provide pricing structure for intermediary fees
