    Role Purpose

    To evaluate, manage, and approve credit risk within an assigned portfolio by applying FNB Group credit mandates, risk frameworks, and methodologies. The role supports asset growth while ensuring credit quality, compliance, and effective risk management across multiple credit products.

    Key Responsibilities

    Credit Risk Management

    • Manage a credit portfolio within the bank’s risk appetite and asset growth targets.

    • Assess annual reviews and ad hoc credit applications within allocated mandate levels.

    • Identify and manage credit risk at origination and on an ongoing basis.

    • Approve or recommend counterparty exposure across multiple products, including:

      • Working capital facilities

      • Term loans

      • Specialised finance solutions

    • Provide recommendations to higher mandate holders where required.

    Portfolio & Monitoring

    • Daily monitoring of excesses within the portfolio.

    • Monitor covenant compliance (monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, or annual).

    • Manage expired limits, early warning triggers, and portfolio quality indicators.

    • Ensure effective workflow and turnaround times in line with agreed SLAs.

    Governance & Committees

    • Present credit applications to Credit Committees (e.g. Internal Credit Committee).

    • Perform secretarial duties for the Provincial Credit Committee when required.

    • Ensure compliance with legislative, audit, and internal governance requirements.

    Stakeholder & Client Engagement

    • Support Account Executives through credit administration and risk guidance.

    • Conduct client visits with frontline sales teams when required.

    • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    • Resolve customer queries efficiently to ensure client satisfaction and retention.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Maintain expert knowledge of legislation, industry best practices, and market trends.

    • Participate in development initiatives and planned learning activities.

    • Contribute to continuous improvement of credit processes and service delivery.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), CA, or equivalent Business/Finance degree.

    • 2–5 years’ experience in the Enterprise or Commercial Banking segment.

    • Strong judgemental credit assessment and portfolio management experience.

    • Knowledge of credit risk frameworks, mandates, and regulatory requirements.
