Job Overview
Ellahi Consulting is recruiting an Automotive Inspector for a position based at Bram Fischer International Airport.
The core purpose of the role is to inspect and evaluate commercial vehicles to determine their mechanical and cosmetic condition, assess damage, and estimate rectification costs. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, technical understanding, and a customer-focused approach while maintaining professional conduct at all times.
Job Purpose
To accurately inspect vehicles and goods, assess mechanical and cosmetic defects, and compile detailed condition reports in line with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role supports corporate clients and transport operators through professional and service-driven vehicle evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Inspection & Evaluation

Inspect commercial vehicles for structural, body, mechanical, and interior damage.

Identify and correctly record defects requiring repair.

Interpret technical and cosmetic faults outside manufacturer specifications.

Test drive vehicles to assess performance and functionality.

Take photographs of vehicles and damage for reporting purposes.
Cost Estimation & Reporting

Estimate labour and parts required for repairs or replacements.

Compile and capture vehicle condition assessment reports using the client’s fleet management system.

Submit all required administrative documentation timeously.
Client & Supplier Relations

Conduct vehicle valuations for corporate clients and transport operators.

Build and maintain strong supplier and client relationships.

Provide professional and courteous service at all times.
Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure adherence to company SOPs and safety rules.

Minimum Requirements
Academic

Matric Certificate.

Valid, unendorsed driver’s license.
Experience

Previous mechanical experience (advantageous).
