The Journal Administrator will be responsible for managing the administrative, editorial, and publication processes for the Southern Journal for Contemporary History. Responsibilities:

Maintain filing systems and manage online workflow for the journal

Handle communications and submissions for the Southern Journal for Contemporary History

Liaise with authors, associate editors, and printers

Coordinate peer review processes and assist the Editor-in-Chief in evaluating submissions

Proofread and language edit manuscripts

Manage editorial records and book review processes
Qualifications:

Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in Humanities (inherent requirement)

PhD in Humanities (advantage)

Experience managing academic projects in history or related fields

Familiarity with open-access publishing

Fluent in English

Proficient in MS Office
