Primary Responsibilities of the IT Project Manager
The IT Project Manager will take charge of multiple responsibilities, ensuring that the university’s IT projects align with its strategic goals. The main duties include:

Qualifications and Experience Required
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Diploma in a relevant field.
- Certifications in PRINCE2 Foundation/PRINCE2 Practitioner (project management methodologies).
- At least three (3) years of direct experience in project management.
Preferred (Desired) Qualifications:
- A University Degree in IT, Project Management, or a related field.
- A certification in Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), demonstrating proficiency in Agile project management.
- Five (5) years of direct work experience in project management, including project process development and execution.
- Five (5) years of experience in an IT environment, which would be advantageous.
Remuneration and Appointment Details
The IT Project Manager position is classified as a Permanent Support Services role. CUT offers a competitive salary package:
- Annual Salary (Total Cost to Company): R956,841 (subject to confirmation for 2025).
- The final remuneration will be determined using CUT’s internal parity model, which ensures equal pay for work of equal value.
