    Job Overview

    The Inventory Technician is responsible for the control, management, and supply of blood products to blood banks. The role ensures that inventory operations run efficiently while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. The incumbent plays a key role in supporting service delivery to both internal and external customers by ensuring blood products are available, properly stored, and distributed according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    This position requires strong attention to detail, laboratory competence, systems knowledge, and the ability to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.

    Key Performance Areas

    1. Inventory Operational Objectives

    • Control and manage blood product stock levels.

    • Ensure accurate issuing and receiving of blood products.

    • Monitor inventory to prevent shortages or wastage.

    • Maintain accurate records and data entries.

    2. Instrument and Laboratory Maintenance

    • Perform routine checks and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

    • Ensure proper storage conditions for blood products.

    • Maintain cleanliness and compliance within laboratory areas.

    3. Quality Compliance

    • Adhere strictly to SOP specifications.

    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.

    • Maintain accurate documentation for audits and quality checks.

    4. General Functions

    • Complete assigned tasks within specified timeframes.

    • Assist with administrative and operational duties as required.
