    Tender Description

Transnet Pipelines is inviting suitably qualified contractors to submit proposals for the installation of a smallbore steel pipe wastewater system at the Alrode and Witbank Transnet Pipelines petroleum products storage and handling facilities.

The project involves the installation of wastewater pipework and associated infrastructure required to support effective wastewater collection, conveyance and management at the designated facilities.

    Objectives

The main objectives of the project are to:

    • Install a suitable smallbore steel pipe wastewater system.
    • Improve wastewater conveyance infrastructure at the Alrode and Witbank facilities.
    • Ensure the installed system meets the required engineering, construction and safety standards.
    • Provide reliable and maintainable wastewater infrastructure.
    • Complete installation and associated works in accordance with Transnet’s specifications and project requirements.

    Scope of Work

The scope is centred on the installation of the wastewater pipe system at the two Transnet Pipelines facilities.

Work is expected to include, subject to the official tender specifications:

    • Site preparation and assessment.
    • Supply and installation of smallbore steel wastewater pipework.
    • Installation of associated fittings, connections and supports.
    • Connection of the new pipework to the relevant existing or designated wastewater infrastructure.
    • Excavation, trenching and reinstatement where required.
    • Installation of associated drainage or wastewater components.
    • Testing and inspection of the completed system.
    • Rectification of defects identified during testing.
    • Final commissioning and handover.
    • Provision of required project documentation and as-built information.

The exact pipe sizes, materials, routes, fittings, connection points, quantities and installation methods must be confirmed in the official tender documents, drawings and bill of quantities.

    • Ensure pipework is correctly installed, supported and protected.
    • Carry out required pressure, leakage or other applicable testing.
    • Ensure proper connections and system integrity.
    • Complete reinstatement of affected areas after construction.
    • Provide inspection, testing and handover documentation as required.
