Job Description
The Branch Marketer is responsible for promoting and selling the company’s agricultural products and merchandise while ensuring excellent customer service, effective stock control, and efficient branch operations. The role involves managing inventory, marketing agricultural commodities, processing sales transactions, coordinating logistics, and building strong customer relationships to achieve sales targets and support branch growth.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring product availability, providing expert customer assistance, and contributing to the overall operational success of the branch.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Marketing
- Market and sell agricultural products and merchandise according to agreed sales targets.
- Promote a range of products including:
- Seeds
- Fertilizer
- Agricultural crops
- Animal feed
- Commodities
- Water systems
- Packaging materials
- Steel products
- Fencing materials
- Building materials
- Identify customer needs and recommend suitable products and solutions.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
Customer Service
- Deliver excellent customer service to walk-in customers.
- Assist customers via telephone and email communication.
- Provide product information and technical guidance where required.
- Resolve customer enquiries and support customer satisfaction initiatives.
Stock Control and Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels and ensure product availability.
- Place and manage stock orders.
- Receive incoming stock and verify deliveries.
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory control processes.
- Ensure stock is stored safely and efficiently.
Storage and Space Planning
- Create and manage effective storage capacity.
- Design storage solutions according to customer requirements.
- Accurately measure spaces and calculate customer storage needs.
- Ensure efficient use of storage facilities and warehouse space.
Administrative Duties
- Process Goods Received Vouchers (GRVs).
- Prepare invoices and related documentation.
- Maintain filing systems and branch records.
- Complete sales and inventory administration accurately and on time.
- Support general branch administration activities.
Logistics and Operational Support
- Coordinate logistics activities relating to stock movement and customer deliveries.
- Assist with branch operational requirements.
- Support branch management in achieving operational objectives.
- Perform additional job-related duties as required.
Product Planning and Calculations
- Prepare accurate cutting lists according to customer requirements.
- Perform calculations related to product quantities and specifications.
- Ensure customer requirements are met accurately and efficiently.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) or NQF Level 4 qualification.
Experience and Knowledge
- Knowledge of agricultural products and retail operations will be advantageous.
- Sales and customer service experience will be beneficial.
- Understanding of stock control and inventory management processes.
