About the Position

- Provide specialised veterinary nursing care.

- Support animal care, breeding programmes, clinical procedures, and research activities.
Primary Purpose of the Role
- Provide specialised veterinary nursing care.
- Promote the welfare, health, and wellbeing of all animals.
- Assist veterinarians with clinical and research-related activities.
- Ensure compliance with professional veterinary nursing standards and study protocols.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Provide veterinary nursing care for animals.
- Assist veterinarians during clinical procedures.
- Support breeding management programmes.
- Participate in research studies and laboratory activities.
- Manage veterinary medicines and clinic operations.
- Maintain accurate records and research data.
- Ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma in Veterinary Nursing.
- Registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC).
- Valid driver’s licence.
Experience Required
- Experience in veterinary laboratory diagnostics.
- Experience managing veterinary pharmacy and scheduled medicines.
- Experience with drug book management.
- Experience in supply chain management relating to animal health supplies.
- Experience working with production animals, companion animals, rabbits, and rodents will be advantageous.
