Responsibilities
As a Professional Nurse Specialised – Theatre, you will:
- Deliver safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care in accordance with the Scope of Practice.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
- Create a positive patient experience through compassionate, quality care.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive nursing records.
- Support staff development by contributing to a learning environment.
- Ensure all stock, consumables, and equipment used are accurately charged and accounted for.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Degree or Diploma in General Nursing (Essential)
- Midwifery qualification and a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in a relevant speciality area (Advantageous)
Experience
- No minimum experience required.
- One year of post-graduate experience in a specialised unit is advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills
- Infection prevention and control
- Pharmacology
- Scientific nursing principles and processes
- Nursing record keeping
- Patient assessment skills
- Nursing procedures and legislation
- Basic Life Support (ACLS, ATLS, or PALS for specialised wards)
- Risk identification and management
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
