    Responsibilities

    As a Professional Nurse Specialised – Theatre, you will:

    • Deliver safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care in accordance with the Scope of Practice.
    • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
    • Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
    • Create a positive patient experience through compassionate, quality care.
    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive nursing records.
    • Support staff development by contributing to a learning environment.
    • Ensure all stock, consumables, and equipment used are accurately charged and accounted for.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education

    • Degree or Diploma in General Nursing (Essential)
    • Midwifery qualification and a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in a relevant speciality area (Advantageous)

    Experience

    • No minimum experience required.
    • One year of post-graduate experience in a specialised unit is advantageous.

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Infection prevention and control
    • Pharmacology
    • Scientific nursing principles and processes
    • Nursing record keeping
    • Patient assessment skills
    • Nursing procedures and legislation
    • Basic Life Support (ACLS, ATLS, or PALS for specialised wards)
    • Risk identification and management
    • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
