Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising security functions performed by Security Officers and ensuring adherence to departmental security policies and procedures.
The role will involve overseeing security operations, performing administrative duties, maintaining effective security systems and providing support during investigations. The successful candidate must have knowledge of security procedures, access control and emergency response processes.
Responsibilities
- Supervise security functions performed by Security Officers.
- Ensure adherence to and implementation of departmental security policies.
- Perform relevant administrative functions.
- Monitor and maintain effective security systems.
- Provide support during security-related investigations.
- Monitor access control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with procedures governing the control and movement of equipment and store contents.
- Apply prescribed security and emergency procedures.
- Ensure Security Officers operate within their prescribed authority and responsibilities.
Requirements
- Grade 10 qualification.
- Completed Basic Security Officer’s Training Course.
- At least two years’ relevant security experience.
- Proof of registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
- Knowledge of:
- Access control procedures.
- Measures for controlling and monitoring the movement of equipment and store contents.
- Prescribed security procedures.
- The authority and responsibilities of a Security Officer.
- Emergency procedures.
