Job Purpose
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods. The role focuses on maintaining accurate inventory control, supervising warehouse staff, ensuring compliance with operational procedures, and supporting overall distribution efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse Operations
Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
Ensure accurate goods handling and storage procedures are followed.
Maintain an organised and efficient warehouse environment.
2. Inventory and Stock Control
Maintain accurate stock records and inventory data.
Conduct cycle counts and assist with stocktaking processes.
Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Apply FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles in stock management.
3. Systems and Reporting
Maintain accurate records in warehouse or ERP systems.
Ensure data integrity and proper documentation of warehouse operations.
Assist with operational reporting and record keeping.
4. Team Supervision
Supervise and guide warehouse staff to maintain productivity.
Coordinate staff activities to ensure efficient workflow.
Address operational issues and resolve day-to-day challenges.
5. Safety and Compliance
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Maintain a safe working environment within the warehouse.
Ensure adherence to company procedures and operational standards.
6. Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and processes.
Support operational improvements and service delivery initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Diploma or qualification in:
Warehousing
Logistics
Supply Chain Management
Experience
6 – 8 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory control.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
Experience with warehouse management systems, ERP systems, or SAP.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
