Introduction / Purpose of the Role:

The main purpose of this role is to implement and control the tyre strategy at the workshop/depot level, ensuring efficient and effective tyre solutions. The role requires hands-on supervision of tyre maintenance processes, stock control, team performance, and compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce company tyre maintenance policies at the site level.

• Conduct fleet inspections and tyre surveys.

• Ensure minimal fleet downtime while maintaining quality standards.

• Supervise tyre bay staff output and performance.

• Ensure availability and correct use of equipment.

• Handle breakdowns efficiently and effectively.

• Manage and control company-owned tyre stock and perform month-end stock takes.

• Maintain accurate and updated data on the Tyre Management Program.

• Oversee all tyre-related documentation (e.g., change slips, job cards, breakdown sheets).

• Enforce compliance with OHS and risk management standards.

• Manage accidents, incidents, PPE use, tool maintenance, service provider compliance, and safety training.

• Lead, mentor, and coach tyre staff in line with company policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education:
  Matric / Grade 12

• Experience:
  Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, specifically in a heavy transport workshop environment

• Skills:

  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Internet & Email)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational ability

Remuneration / Salary:

Between R12 000 and R15 000 per month (depending on experience and qualifications)
