Job Overview
Afrirent Auto is seeking a skilled and reliable Trailer Technician to join our Bloemfontein Depot team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of trailers to ensure their roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to SHEQ and company protocols.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct maintenance and repairs on side loaders, interlink, and dry freight semi-trailers in line with manufacturer specifications.

Inspect trailers for faults, perform mechanical checks, and ensure compliance with road safety regulations.

Test and repair braking systems, air suspensions, bearings, wiring, lights, couplings, and chassis components.

Carry out inspections and condition reports on key components such as floors, protection bars, and load boxes.

Maintain accurate job cards, service records, and documentation.

Reprogram trailer modulators and ABS systems when required.

Adhere to company SHEQ policies and safety procedures during all operations.

Ensure a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.

Perform additional repair or maintenance tasks as directed by management.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric).

2–3 years of experience in trailer maintenance and repair.

Proficient in mechanical, air suspension, and ABS system repairs.

Strong knowledge of Henred, BPW, and Weweler systems.

Must have own toolbox with relevant tools.

Computer literate and able to reprogram trailer electronic systems.

Familiar with SHEQ rules and safe working practices.
