Job Overview
Econo Foods, a rapidly expanding FMCG retail brand, is looking for an experienced Stock Controller to join their Bloemfontein team. This is a critical role for someone with strong stock control skills, a keen eye for accuracy, and leadership capabilities in a high-paced retail environment.
Key Purpose of the role
To ensure efficient and accurate stock management across all operational areas by overseeing stock movements, minimizing stock losses, optimizing stock rotation, managing team performance, and ensuring that inventory processes meet business standards.
Key Responsibilities

Reconcile stock movements between stores, DCs, and customer locations.

Monitor stock aging and dead stock; implement clearance or rotation strategies.

Investigate stock variances and discrepancies; apply corrective measures.

Oversee stock adjustments (damaged, expired, unaccounted items).

Resolve invoice-related stock issues with internal teams.

Conduct random camera checks in loading areas; record findings.

Monitor stock displays for visual standards and customer appeal.

Manage CHEP pallet transactions and documentation.

Coordinate, lead, and verify stock counts and cycle counts.

Enforce health and safety policies, including PPE compliance.

Lead the stock control team: schedules, meetings, training, and IR matters.
Minimum Requirements

Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

3–5 years of stock control experience (preferably in FMCG Retail).

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and stock systems.

Fluent in English (written and spoken).
