Job Purpose
The Paralegal (High Court) provides administrative, research, and technical legal support to attorneys within the Road Accident Fund’s legal department. The role involves assisting with case preparation, document management, litigation support, and stakeholder coordination to ensure the efficient handling of legal matters and compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Performance Areas
1. General Management and Support to Attorney

Provide legal research assistance to attorneys.

Conduct public record searches and verifications.

Assist with interviewing clients and witnesses for case preparation.

Collect, retrieve, and analyse information relevant to litigation cases.

Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including document compilation and scheduling.

Conduct legal analysis and research for reporting and case development purposes.
2. Document Management

Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and discovery documents.

Summarise depositions, affidavits, and evidence.

Maintain accurate file registers and case documentation.

Ensure proper organisation and accessibility of case files.
3. Reporting

Contribute to the preparation and submission of regulatory reports.

Assist in the development of functional reporting systems for management and project tracking.

Provide progress updates and periodic reports to inform management decisions.
4. Stakeholder Management

Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Handle inquiries and information requests efficiently.

Support the management of vendors and service providers, ensuring timely payments and compliance with procurement procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification.
Experience:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a legal environment, preferably in litigation or claims management.
