Job Overview
Eduvos is seeking an experienced IT Lecturer to join its Bloemfontein campus on a part-time contractual basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Information Technology-related modules, supporting students academically, preparing and assessing learning materials, and contributing to the administrative and departmental activities of the academic department.
Purpose of the Role
The IT Lecturer will:
- Lecture Information Technology-related modules on a part-time basis.
- Assist with academic administration and departmental activities as required.
- Support students in achieving their academic outcomes.
- Contribute to quality teaching and learning within the department.
Modules to Be Lectured
The successful candidate may be required to lecture the following modules:
- Program Design (Python)
- Database Design Concepts (ERD Modelling)
- Software Engineering (SDLC/UML)
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A Master’s Degree in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Information Systems
- A PhD will be an added advantage.
- Relevant lecturing experience.
- Knowledge of higher education practices and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Lecturing
- Deliver IT-related lectures and facilitate student learning.
- Present module content effectively and support students throughout their studies.
Assessment
- Set and mark assessments.
- Provide appropriate feedback to students.
- Ensure assessments meet required academic and quality standards.
Learning Materials
- Prepare lecture notes.
- Develop additional study materials to support student learning.
Quality Assurance
- Contribute to quality assurance processes.
- Ensure teaching and assessment activities meet institutional standards.
Student Support
- Identify and support at-risk students.
- Provide appropriate academic assistance to students who require additional support.
Administration
- Perform general academic administration.
- Participate in departmental activities and other responsibilities as required.
