    Job Overview

    CBRE Excellerate is looking for a reliable and motivated Handyman Assistant to support maintenance operations across multiple client sites in Welkom.

    The successful candidate will assist the Handyman with general building maintenance, repairs, and planned preventative maintenance while ensuring high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer service. The role also requires the use of mobile technology to complete digital job cards, reports, and maintenance records.

    Key Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will:

    • Assist the Handyman with general building maintenance and repairs across client sites.
    • Support maintenance work including:
      • Carpentry
      • Painting
      • Ceiling repairs
      • Drywall installation and repairs
      • Basic masonry
      • Plumbing
      • Tiling
      • Office furniture repairs
    • Prepare tools, equipment, and materials for maintenance activities.
    • Assist with site inspections and report maintenance issues.
    • Complete digital job cards, reports, delivery notes, and maintenance documentation using mobile applications.
    • Respond to maintenance call-outs and assist with emergency and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
    • Provide regular updates to the Handyman and Operations Manager.
    • Follow all health, safety, and operational procedures.
    • Participate in standby duties when required.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must have:

    • Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
    • A minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in general building or facilities maintenance support.
    • Basic knowledge of:
      • Carpentry
      • Painting
      • Plumbing
      • Tiling
      • General building repairs
    • A valid driver’s licence.
    • Willingness to travel between client sites.
    • Ability to use smartphones and mobile applications for reporting and work tracking.
