Company Overview:
A respected company in the water sector is seeking a motivated Graduate Civil Engineer to join their project delivery team. This is a hands-on, technically focused role, ideal for candidates with a passion for water infrastructure and a desire to gain practical project experience.
Purpose of the Role:
To support the planning and implementation of water-related civil projects (e.g., pressure management, leak detection, metering) while developing technical and project management skills. The position also involves assisting with tenders, proposals, and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Implementation & Site Support

Assist with site inspections, material checks, and quality assurance

Document progress, prepare technical reports and corrective action plans
2. Data Analysis & Reporting
-
Analyse water flow, pressure, and consumption data

Create spreadsheets, models, and financial assessments
-
Contribute to progress and completion reports
3. Business Development Support
-
Draft technical content for tenders and proposals

Help identify new project opportunities

Prepare cost estimates, BoQs, and basic designs
4. Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with SANS, municipal, and environmental regulations

Participate in site safety inspections
5. Professional Growth

Work under guidance to achieve ECSA registration

Continuously improve technical and project management competencies
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BEng, BSc, or BTech)

0–2 years of relevant experience

Registered or intending to register with ECSA

Valid driver’s licence required
Preferred Experience:

Exposure to water infrastructure projects (internship or graduate programme)

Knowledge of pressure management, metering, leak detection

Familiarity with design tools: AutoCAD, Civil 3D

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
