Job Description:
One of South Africa’s leading mining companies is seeking an experienced and qualified GCC Engineer to manage engineering operations at a mining site in the Free State. The successful candidate will play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring plant reliability, equipment integrity, and compliance with legal and operational standards in a concentrator plant environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee all engineering activities in the concentrator plant.

Ensure all operations comply with Mine Health and Safety Act and related regulations.

Drive maintenance best practices and reliability improvements across plant operations.

Manage engineering teams and coordinate with production, safety, and planning departments.

Optimize equipment availability and minimize downtime through effective preventative and corrective maintenance programs.

Lead engineering projects and capital improvements.

Uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards across the site.
Minimum Requirements:

Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

GCC Mines & Works (Mechanical or Electrical) – Essential
-
ECSA Registration – Professional Engineering registration preferred

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Section Engineer in a concentrator plant or similar mining environment

Solid leadership and team management skills

Strong working knowledge of relevant engineering codes and legal compliance
