The Driver Code 14 is responsible for operating heavy-duty trucks to transport goods safely and efficiently to various destinations such as depots, distributors, and retail customers.

You drive large trucks, ensure deliveries are on time, accurate, and safe, and manage the delivery process from start to finish.
Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods across assigned routes while ensuring compliance with road safety laws and company policies. You will also oversee the loading and offloading process and ensure that all deliveries match the required documentation.
The position requires a high level of responsibility, as you are accountable for both the vehicle and the cargo.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Deliveries
- Operate heavy-duty (Code 14) vehicles
- Deliver goods to depots, distributors, and retail customers
- Ensure timely and accurate deliveries
Load Management
- Supervise and assist Truck Assistants during loading/offloading
- Ensure goods are properly secured to prevent damage
Vehicle Inspections
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Check vehicle condition (tyres, brakes, fluids, etc.)
Documentation & Compliance
- Verify deliveries against invoices and delivery notes
- Return signed delivery documents
- Follow all company policies and road safety laws
Customer Service
- Maintain professionalism with clients during deliveries
- Ensure a positive delivery experience
Reporting
- Report accidents, delays, or vehicle issues immediately
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Code 14 Driver’s License
- Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
Experience
- 3–4 years’ experience driving heavy-duty vehicles
Other Requirements
- Clean criminal record
- Good communication skills
