Job Description
Cre8work! is seeking a reliable and responsible Code 10 Driver to operate a Code 10 (C1) vehicle safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely delivery and collection of goods, ensuring loads are safely secured and maintaining the vehicle in a clean, safe and roadworthy condition.
The driver will also be expected to follow scheduled routes, complete required delivery documentation and communicate professionally with customers, dispatch teams and management.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Operating a Code 10 vehicle safely and responsibly.
- Delivering and collecting goods according to scheduled routes and instructions.
- Loading and offloading goods safely.
- Ensuring all loads are properly secured.
- Conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Reporting vehicle defects, accidents, delays and incidents to management.
- Completing delivery notes, trip sheets, logbooks and proof-of-delivery documentation accurately.
- Obtaining customer signatures and returning completed delivery documentation.
- Following road traffic laws, company policies and safety procedures.
- Keeping the vehicle clean and roadworthy.
- Planning routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries.
- Communicating professionally with customers, dispatch and management.
- Assisting with loading and unloading when required.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A valid Code 10 / C1 Driver’s Licence.
- A valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP/PDP).
- At least 2–3 years of relevant driving experience, with 5 years preferred for experienced positions.
- A clean driving record.
- A clear criminal record where required.
- Good knowledge of local and regional routes.
- Good communication and time-management skills.
- The physical ability to assist with loading and unloading.
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Matric/Grade 10 or equivalent, depending on the client’s requirements.
Advantageous Skills and Experience
The following will be an advantage:
- Previous logistics, distribution or delivery experience.
- Experience using proof-of-delivery systems and GPS/navigation.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle inspections and maintenance.
- A Dangerous Goods Permit (DGP), where applicable.
