Job Description
Purpose of the Role:
To provide academic support and hands-on clinical facilitation to nursing students and staff, ensuring integration of theoretical knowledge with practical clinical skills within a hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver clinical education, supervision, and coaching to nursing students and clinical staff.

Conduct structured clinical sessions, aligned with curriculum outcomes and nursing standards.

Maintain SANC-aligned documentation and student assessments with academic integrity.
-
Serve as a professional role model, ensuring integration of theory and evidence-based clinical practice.

Coordinate clinical placements and student evaluations in collaboration with hospital units and academic institutions.

Participate in curriculum development, quality audits, and professional development events.

Stay up to date with latest clinical trends and integrate evidence-based practices.
Minimum Requirements:
-
Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a General Nurse and Midwife
-
Nursing Education qualification and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in clinical education or academic facilitation

Assessor unit standard completed and registered with SANC
-
Willingness to complete the Moderator unit standard and register with SANC within 12 months
-
Own transport and a valid driver’s licence
-
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and online learning platforms
-
Additional clinical specialty qualifications are advantageous
-
Master’s degree in Clinical/Education field is a plus; willingness to start within 2 years is required
