     Employment Information

    • Salary Range: R791 604 – R849 525 per annum (all-inclusive package)
    • Package Structure: Up to 30% flexible portion

     Job Purpose

    To provide architectural planning, design oversight, and project implementation support for public infrastructure programmes, ensuring compliance with architectural standards, safety regulations, and government infrastructure frameworks.

     Minimum Requirements

    • NQF Level 7 qualification in Architecture or equivalent
    • Registration as a Professional Architect with South African Council for the Architectural Profession
    • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience
    • Valid driver’s licence

    Added Advantage:

    • Computer literacy
    • Certificate in Infrastructure Delivery Management System (IDMS)

     Key Responsibilities

    1. Infrastructure Planning & Design

    • Prepare procurement strategies and project briefs
    • Develop architectural inputs for infrastructure budgets
    • Design and evaluate project execution plans (IDMS stages)

    2. Project Implementation & Monitoring

    • Monitor infrastructure projects implemented by agents
    • Ensure compliance with architectural standards and designs
    • Review project execution plans and variations
    • Recommend approvals for payments and design changes

    3. Maintenance & Facilities Management

    • Manage maintenance projects for public infrastructure
    • Guide districts and schools on maintenance planning
    • Monitor emergency and routine maintenance programmes

    4. Project Commissioning & Evaluation

    • Coordinate project completion and handover processes
    • Conduct site inspections and usability evaluations
    • Perform post-project and post-occupancy assessments

    5. Compliance & Quality Assurance

    • Ensure adherence to architectural norms and standards
    • Maintain safety and construction compliance
    • Review technical quality of built environment projects

    6. Reporting & Documentation

    • Prepare progress, financial, and technical reports
    • Maintain infrastructure documentation systems
    • Update project records and planning frameworks

    7. Research & Innovation

    • Stay updated with architectural trends and technologies
    • Conduct research on building systems and design improvements
    • Engage with professional architectural bodies
