Salary Package
- R1 266 714 per annum (all-inclusive package)

Job Purpose
To provide strategic leadership and management of provincial traffic law enforcement, ensuring road safety, compliance, and effective traffic control operations across the province.
Minimum Requirements
- NQF Level 7 qualification (Bachelor’s Degree) in:
- Transport Management
- Traffic Law Enforcement
- Public Administration
- Social Sciences or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience at middle or senior management level
- Experience in law enforcement or transport environment
- Knowledge of traffic legislation
- Nyukela (SMS Pre-Entry Certificate) – mandatory
- Valid driver’s licence

Key Responsibilities
1. Traffic Law Enforcement Management
- Manage road traffic control operations in the province
- Oversee roadblocks, speed enforcement, and patrol operations
- Ensure compliance with traffic laws and regulations
2. Strategic Planning & Policy Development
- Develop and implement traffic safety strategies
- Align traffic enforcement with national and provincial transport plans
- Develop operational policies and procedures
3. Operational Oversight
- Supervise traffic officers and inspectors
- Manage daily enforcement activities
- Oversee traffic control centres and weighbridges
4. Road Safety & Risk Management
- Identify and manage hazardous locations
- Develop strategies to reduce road fatalities
- Oversee escorting of abnormal loads
5. Stakeholder Coordination
- Work with:
- South African Police Service
- Municipal councils
- National traffic authorities
6. Transport Regulation
- Monitor operator licences and permits
- Ensure compliance with public transport regulations
7. Resource Management
- Manage human, financial, and asset resources
- Ensure compliance with government financial regulations
