Main Purpose of the Job
The Professional Nurse will:
- Deliver safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care
- Work according to the Scope of Practice
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Support optimal patient care and safety
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Deliver quality nursing care
- Assess patient conditions and provide appropriate interventions
- Develop and modify nursing care plans
Risk & Safety Management
- Identify and manage risks
- Ensure infection prevention and control
- Maintain patient safety standards
Administration & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate nursing records
- Ensure utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged
Staff Development
- Create and support a learning environment
- Help improve staff competence and teamwork
Patient Experience
- Promote a positive and supportive patient environment
- Ensure professional and compassionate care delivery
Minimum Requirements
Essential Education
Applicants must have:
- Degree or Diploma in General Nursing
Desired Qualifications
Advantageous qualifications include:
- Midwifery qualification
- Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in a relevant nursing specialty
Experience Requirements
Essential Experience
- No minimum experience required
Desired Experience
- 1 year post-postgraduate qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit
Required Knowledge & Skills
Applicants should have knowledge of:
- Nursing processes and procedures
- Scientific nursing principles
- Pharmacology

Technical Skills
