    Main Purpose of the Job

    The successful candidate will:

    • Deliver safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care
    • Work according to the Scope of Practice
    • Support theatre and surgical procedures as a scrub nurse
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team

    Key Responsibilities

    Nursing Care

    • Deliver quality patient care in the theatre environment
    • Assist during surgical procedures
    • Monitor and support patient safety

    Risk & Safety Management

    • Identify and manage risks
    • Ensure infection prevention and control standards
    • Maintain compliance with nursing legislation and procedures

    Patient Experience

    • Create a positive and supportive environment for patients
    • Ensure professional and compassionate care

    Administration & Record Keeping

    • Maintain accurate nursing records
    • Ensure utilised stock and equipment are correctly charged

    Staff Development

    • Help create a learning environment
    • Support ongoing staff competence and training

    Minimum Requirements

    Essential Education

    • Degree or Diploma in General Nursing

    Desired Qualifications

    • Midwifery qualification
    • Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in a relevant specialty area

    Experience Requirements

    Essential Experience

    • No minimum experience required

    Desired Experience

    • 1 year post-postgraduate qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit

    Required Knowledge & Skills

    Applicants should have knowledge of:

    • Infection prevention and control
    • Pharmacology
    • Nursing processes and procedures
    • Scientific nursing principles
    • Patient assessment
    • Nursing record keeping
    • Relevant nursing legislation
    • Risk identification and management

    Technical Skills

    • Microsoft Office proficiency
    • Ability to develop and modify nursing care plans

    Additional Advantage

    Training in:

    • ACLS
    • ATLS
    • PALS
      (for specialised wards)
