Job Overview
Ampath is seeking a professional and patient-focused Phlebotomist to join the Pelonomi Care Centre team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and handling specimens, maintaining accurate patient information and delivering a caring, professional patient experience while adhering to healthcare quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood and non-blood specimens according to clinical standards and safety protocols.
- Accurately identify patients and ensure correct specimen handling and documentation.
- Capture and manage patient information using digital systems.
- Process patient payments and maintain accurate administrative records.
- Provide professional, compassionate and patient-centred service.
- Maintain compliance with quality assurance, safety and infection-control requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Phlebotomy or Nursing.
- Current registration with the HPCSA or SANC as a Phlebotomy Technician or Registered Nurse.
Skills & Experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Good computer literacy and confidence using digital systems.
- Patient-focused approach.
- Commitment to service excellence.
Additional Requirement
- Valid South African Code B driver’s licence.
