    JOB OVERVIEW

    The Head of Academic Operations is responsible for leading and managing campus academic operations, ensuring efficient systems, compliance with academic policies, and smooth delivery of teaching, assessments, registrations, and student support processes. The role focuses on operational excellence, staff leadership, and continuous improvement of academic delivery systems.

    JOB PURPOSE

    To oversee and optimise academic operational functions, ensuring efficiency in timetabling, assessments, registrations, student systems, and compliance with institutional academic policies while supporting student success and campus readiness.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Quality Assurance & Compliance

    • Implement and monitor academic operations policies and procedures
    • Ensure compliance with assessment policies and standards
    • Oversee assessment scheduling, moderation, capturing, and results release
    • Support audit processes and implement improvement plans
    • Ensure proper documentation approvals and stakeholder communication

    2. Operational Management

    • Manage timetables, lecturer allocations, and academic scheduling
    • Oversee campus readiness for academic cycles and programme delivery
    • Ensure timely delivery of teaching materials and assessments
    • Supervise invigilator recruitment, claims, and payment processes
    • Coordinate academic systems and scheduling efficiency

    3. Student Support & Systems

    • Manage student registration records and certification processes
    • Handle student queries via internal systems (e.g., Intralink)
    • Support resolution of academic and administrative student issues
    • Ensure effective communication with students and stakeholders

    4. Departmental Leadership

    • Manage academic operations teams (coordinators, admissions, assessment officers)
    • Provide training, onboarding, and performance management
    • Support recruitment and staff development
    • Report operational performance and improvements to senior management

    5. Stakeholder Engagement

    • Maintain strong relationships with academic staff, students, parents, and central support teams
    • Participate in campus committees and operational decision-making
    • Ensure effective collaboration across departments

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management/Administration (Honours preferred)
    • 5–8 years total working experience in administration and client services
    • Minimum 5 years management experience
    • Strong experience in academic operations or education administration
