The salary notch will be determined according to the applicant’s years of experience after registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions as a Social Worker.
Main Purpose of the Position
To provide administrative, compliance, monitoring, and support services for Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes, particularly in relation to ECD centre registration, infrastructure support, subsidy administration, and programme compliance. The position also assists with community engagement, site visits, documentation management, and coordination between ECD centres and government stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. ECD Registration and Compliance Support
- Assist with ECD centre registration processes.
- Process, organise, and track registration documentation.
- Ensure applications meet registration requirements.
- Verify supporting documents and compliance records.
- Monitor progress of registration applications.
- Identify incomplete or incorrect submissions and facilitate corrections.
2. ECD Subsidy Administration Support
- Assist with documentation required for ECD subsidy applications.
- Monitor subsidy-related records and supporting evidence.
- Support the administration and verification of funding applications.
- Ensure compliance with subsidy requirements and procedures.
3. Documentation and Records Management
- Upload and maintain ECD programme records on approved systems.
- Manage electronic and physical documentation.
- Ensure accurate filing and record keeping.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Support audit and compliance processes.
4. Data Management and Reporting
- Update and maintain district-level ECD centre information.
- Prepare reports and data updates for management.
- Compile supporting evidence for registration and site visits.
- Monitor attendance, incidents, and programme progress where required.
- Assist with tracking and reporting on ECD programme activities.
5. Site Visit Support and Monitoring
- Accompany provincial and district officials during ECD site visits.
- Assist with:

- Support site readiness assessments and follow-up actions.
6. Stakeholder Liaison and Coordination
- Communicate with:

7. Community Development and Resource Mobilisation
- Assist in identifying and mobilising community resources.

- Support initiatives aimed at strengthening ECD services within communities.
Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- A Certificate in Social Auxiliary Work, or
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.
Professional Registration
Applicants must be registered with the:
- South African Council for Social Service Professions
as either:
- A Social Worker, or
- A Social Auxiliary Worker.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in:
- Social Work, or
- Social Auxiliary Work.
