Job Description
As a Phlebotomy Lead, you will oversee the daily activities within the Care Centre and ensure the effective delivery of phlebotomy and pathology-related services. The role involves leading a high-performing team, promoting continuous improvement, and ensuring that healthcare standards and operational goals are consistently achieved.
The position also focuses on developing employees, supporting patient-centered care, and contributing to Ampath’s overall strategic and operational objectives.

Requirements
Educational Requirements
Candidates must have one of the following:
- Relevant HPCSA qualification
- Recognised Phlebotomy qualification
- Nursing qualification
Registration Requirements
- Active registration with:
- HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa), or
- SANC (South African Nursing Council)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years practical experience in:
- Phlebotomy, or
- Similar pathology environment roles
Additional Requirements
- Valid South African Driver’s License (Code B)

- Computer literacy (MS Outlook, Windows, Excel)
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Numerical reasoning ability
