Job Description
The Pharmacist Assistant QPB is responsible for delivering professional pharmaceutical support services within the approved scope of practice. The role includes handling prescriptions, interacting with customers confidentially, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
The position also involves supporting healthcare services, resolving prescription-related queries, and contributing to efficient pharmacy operations.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Interact professionally with customers and patients
- Provide assistance regarding medication and healthcare services
- Maintain confidentiality when handling patient information
- Ensure excellent patient satisfaction and service delivery
Prescription & Script Administration
- Capture prescriptions accurately
- Process medical aid claims and related procedures
- Handle prescription queries and follow-ups
- Ensure accurate maintenance of patient profiles
Healthcare Support
- Communicate with healthcare professionals when required
- Assist with chronic medication authorizations
- Support dispensary and pharmacy operational activities
Operational Duties
- Liaise with different departments
- Assist with additional operational requirements
- Follow company SOPs and pharmaceutical regulations
- Maintain ethical and compliant working practices
Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Further Education and Training Certificate in Pharmacist Assistance (Essential)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic
Knowledge Requirements
- Product and OTC medication knowledge
- Understanding of SAPC regulations and legal requirements
- Knowledge of chronic authorization procedures
- Customer service principles
- Ethical pharmacy practices and compliance standards
