Job Overview
The Assistant Storeman is responsible for managing stock in warehouses and yards, ensuring accurate loading, offloading, stock control, and proper housekeeping standards. The role supports smooth supply chain operations within the retail agricultural environment of VKB Group.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Management
- Oversee loading and offloading of stock
- Ensure accurate stock counts and control
- Maintain proper stock rotation
- Monitor stock availability and accuracy
Warehouse & Yard Operations
- Conduct daily inspections and walkabouts
- Ensure cleanliness and order in storage areas
- Maintain VKB housekeeping standards
Compliance & Safety
- Follow health and safety policies
- Ensure all procedures are adhered to during operations
- Support compliance with company standards
Additional Duties
- Assist with marketing of agricultural commodities
- Perform ad hoc operational tasks as required
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- Previous warehousing experience (advantageous)
- Willingness to undergo continuous training
