Tender Objective
The objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified and capable supplier for the supply and delivery of roller ironer accessories to healthcare facilities within the Free State Department of Health.
The contract aims to ensure continuous, efficient, and compliant laundry operations across provincial health institutions through the provision of high-quality accessories that meet strict technical and safety standards.
Scope of Supply
The scope includes the supply and delivery of the following roller ironer accessories:
Ironer Padding (Needlefelt)
High-Temperature Calender Wax
Woven Ironer Guide Tapes (T25, T7724i, T24/25(HP))
Anti-Static Folder Banding and Feed Belting
Lacing Clips and Pins
Waxing Cloths
Cleaning Blankets (EU specification)
Poly Tac Heatseal Patches
The contract period shall be three (3) years from the date of signing.
Technical Specifications
All supplied items must comply with the detailed specifications outlined in the bid document, including but not limited to:
Ironer Padding (Needlefelt):
100% polyester scrim reinforced
Weight: ±800–900 gsm
Thickness: ±5 mm
Operating temperature: up to 170°C
Heat-set and anti-hydrolysis treated
Lengths ranging from 3.85m to 6.4m (as specified)
Calender Wax:
Non-marking, high-temperature wax
Supplied in 10kg tubs
Suitable for operation at ±150°C
Rust protection with no wax residue
Guide Tapes & Belting:
Heat-set polyester woven guide tapes
Widths between 14mm and 15mm
Lengths up to 500m
Anti-static properties and ribbon-free performance
Additional Items:
Lacing clips and pins (50mm–150mm)
Waxing cloths, cleaning blankets, and heatseal patches
All items to meet quality, durability, and safety standards
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and compliance documentation must be provided where applicable.
Supplier Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate the following:
Proven capability to manufacture or supply roller ironer accessories meeting detailed specifications
Experience supplying government departments or large institutional clients
Ability to deliver goods timeously across multiple locations
Provision of after-sales support, warranties, and replacement of defective items
Compliance with all legal, safety, environmental, and procurement requirements
