     Job Description

    The Labour Relations Officer is responsible for managing misconduct cases, grievances, and disputes in line with relevant legislation.

    The role also includes maintaining accurate records, supporting labour relations processes, and assisting management in promoting fair labour practices.

     Key Responsibilities

    Labour Relations Management

    • Handle misconduct cases, grievances, and disputes

    • Ensure cases are resolved according to legislation and policies

    • Advise management on labour relations matters

    Administration & Systems

    • Capture and maintain records of cases on employee relations systems

    • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping

    Committee & Support Functions

    • Provide secretariat services to the Departmental consultative committee

    • Support labour relations processes within the department

     Minimum Requirements

    • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Labour Relations or equivalent (recognized by SAQA)

    • Valid driver’s license

    Knowledge Required

    • Labour Relations legislation

    • Labour relations processes and procedures

    • Public Service processes

    • CCMA, PSCBC, and GPSSBC procedures

    • Strong understanding of labour laws and processes

    • Good problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
