Role Purpose
The Diesel Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repair work on Volvo heavy commercial vehicles while meeting the company’s quality, efficiency, and labour hour standards.

Key Responsibilities
Diagnostics & Repairs

Perform fault-finding and diagnostics on Volvo trucks

Identify performance issues and mechanical failures

Interpret and apply information from Volvo service manuals and technical literature
Maintenance & Technical Work
-
Carry out repairs and maintenance according to Volvo standards

Follow workshop manuals and technical specifications
-
Ensure all work meets Volvo quality and efficiency standards
Customer Service

Deliver high levels of customer service through accurate and quality repairs

Provide clear and detailed reports on diagnostics, component failures, and repair actions
Breakdown Support

Follow correct procedures when responding to vehicle breakdowns

Liaise with the driver before attending breakdowns

Ensure all documentation is correctly completed and submitted
Compliance & Safety

Follow ISO 9001 standards and safety regulations

Ensure compliance with workshop processes and safety procedures
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
-
Matric / N3
-
Trade Test Certificate – Qualified Diesel Mechanic
Experience
-
Minimum 3 years dealership experience working with heavy commercial vehicles
Key Competencies
-
Ability to use measuring and diagnostic equipment
-
Strong mechanical repair skills
-
Ability to interpret technical manuals and specifications
-
Good communication skills in English

Basic computer literacy
