    Job Description

    The Health Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring that health and wellness products are correctly displayed, replenished, labelled, and maintained according to Dis-Chem’s merchandising standards. The role focuses on stock management, shelf presentation, customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized retail environment.

    This position plays a vital role in ensuring customers can easily find products and enjoy a positive shopping experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    Merchandising and Stock Control

    • Restock merchandise according to business requirements.
    • Ensure stock received from deliveries or the storeroom is packed and displayed correctly.
    • Maintain full product availability on shelves.
    • Rotate stock using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) principle.
    • Assist with stocktaking and inventory counts.
    • Build, maintain, and replenish merchandising displays.
    • Ensure products are correctly labelled and priced.

    Store Presentation

    • Maintain neat, attractive, and well-organised shelves.
    • Ensure merchandise is visible and accessible to customers.
    • Maintain cleanliness of displays and designated areas.
    • Take responsibility for assigned stock in both the storeroom and sales floor.

    Customer Service

    • Assist customers with product and stock enquiries.
    • Resolve stock-related customer queries promptly.
    • Provide friendly and professional customer service.
    • Work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.

    Operational Support

    • Assist with back shopping activities.
    • Report damaged, missing, or misplaced stock.
    • Support store operations during busy trading periods.
    • Adhere to company merchandising and safety standards.

    Minimum Requirements

    Essential

    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • Up to 6 months of retail experience.
    • Computer literacy (MS Office).
    • Willingness to work retail hours.

    Advantageous

    • Diploma or Degree in a Health-related field.
    • At least 1 year of retail experience.

      • SAP
      • Unisolv
      • ZMORE reporting systems
    • Ability to identify and report suspicious activities.

    Special Employment Conditions
