    Job Description

    The Departmental Head is a middle management leadership role responsible for managing and supporting teachers within the Humanities department, specifically:

    • Geography
    • Tourism
    • History
    • Social Sciences

    The role ensures effective teaching, curriculum delivery, and academic excellence within the department.

    Key Responsibilities

    Academic Leadership

    • Lead and manage subject teachers within the department
    • Ensure high-quality teaching and learning
    • Monitor learner performance and academic progress
    • Support curriculum implementation and assessment

    Management and Administration

    • Coordinate departmental planning and timetables
    • Manage teaching resources and subject budgets
    • Ensure compliance with education policies
    • Report on departmental performance

    Staff Support and Development

    • Mentor and support educators in the department
    • Conduct classroom observations
    • Encourage professional development and training

    Learner Support

    • Monitor learner achievement and behaviour
