Job Purpose
To lead the pharmacy team and ensure excellent pharmaceutical service delivery while meeting operational, compliance, and financial targets for the pharmacy and clinic.
Key Responsibilities
Pharmaceutical Care
- Ensure safe and accurate dispensing of medication
- Provide professional patient counselling and advice
- Apply generic substitution where appropriate
- Operate within South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) regulations
Operational Management
- Manage daily pharmacy operations
- Oversee stock control and shrinkage prevention
- Ensure proper housekeeping and administration
- Maintain compliance with company and legal standards
Financial Management
- Drive profitability of the pharmacy and clinic
- Manage expenses and budgets
- Monitor core pharmacy performance targets
- Take corrective action when required
Staff Leadership and Development
- Lead, supervise, and motivate pharmacy staff
- Manage interns and learners
- Conduct staff training and development
- Ensure proper staff scheduling and attendance tracking
Customer Service Excellence
- Ensure high-quality customer experience
- Drive customer loyalty initiatives (e.g., club card participation)
- Handle customer service improvements in the pharmacy
Integration with Clinic Services
- Work closely with clinic and healthcare teams
- Ensure integrated healthcare service offering
- Improve overall customer health solutions
Compliance and Governance
- Ensure compliance with:
- SAPC regulations

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Registered Pharmacist with South African Pharmacy Council
- Minimum 2 years’ experience post community service
- Minimum 1 year experience in people management
- Valid registration as Responsible Pharmacist (SAPC)
Advantageous Experience
- Retail pharmacy experience
- Experience using Unisolve system (beneficial)
