Job Description
The Business Representative is responsible for driving sales growth by acquiring new customers, maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships, and promoting the company’s products and services within the assigned region. The role involves managing customer accounts, coordinating marketing initiatives, supporting sales forecasting, monitoring sales performance, and working closely with internal departments to ensure excellent customer service and the achievement of regional sales targets.
The successful candidate will act as the primary liaison between customers and the business, ensuring customer satisfaction while contributing to increased market share, profitability, and sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and prospect new customers to expand the customer base.
- Open new customer accounts.
- Develop new business opportunities.
- Increase market penetration within the assigned territory.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Identify opportunities to grow customer sales.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- Resolve customer queries promptly.
- Maintain accurate customer and CRM records.
Sales Management
- Monitor customer sales performance using SAP.
- Develop action plans to achieve regional sales targets.
- Monitor customer purchasing trends.
- Increase sales and profitability.
- Provide regular sales reports and customer activity updates to the Regional Manager.
Marketing and Promotions
- Develop and implement marketing campaigns.
- Coordinate promotional activities.
- Organise trade evenings and customer events.
- Promote company products and services.
- Increase market share through targeted promotional initiatives.
Customer Account Management
- Assist customers with:
- New account applications
- Credit applications
- Maintain customer accounts.
- Ensure compliance with company credit policies.
Credit and Debtor Management
- Work closely with the Debtors Department.
- Support debt collection activities.
- Ensure customer accounts remain within approved credit terms.
Stock and Supply Chain Coordination
- Collaborate with Warehouse and Logistics teams.
- Support route planning.
- Monitor stock availability.
- Assist with stock forecasting.
- Help customers manage stock levels and product mix.
Product Support
- Deliver customer product training.
- Provide pricing updates.
- Conduct technical product presentations.
- Promote product knowledge.
Financial and Operational Performance
- Monitor:

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate (NQF Level 5), or equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as:
- Business Representative
- Sales Representative
- Similar sales role
- Experience within:

- Related industries
