Tender Overview
Eskom Holdings SOC Limited Gauteng invites suitably qualified contractors to submit tenders for the provision of horticulture maintenance services at Vaal Power Village and garden maintenance services at Eskom vacant houses in Vaalpark and Three Rivers.
The services will be provided for a period of five years on an as-and-when-required basis. The appointed contractor will be expected to maintain the designated Eskom properties and respond to service requests as and when work is required throughout the contract period.
Scope of Work
The contract covers horticultural and garden maintenance services at the following locations:
- Vaal Power Village
- Eskom vacant houses in Vaalpark
- Eskom vacant houses in Three Rivers
The contractor will be required to provide the necessary labour, equipment, resources and horticultural expertise to carry out the required maintenance work.
Services may include general horticultural and landscaping activities such as:
- Grass cutting and lawn maintenance.
- Gardening and general grounds maintenance.
- Pruning and trimming of trees, shrubs and plants.
- Weed and vegetation control.
- Plant maintenance and replacement where required.
- Irrigation and watering-related maintenance.
- Garden and landscape rehabilitation.
- Removal of garden waste and vegetation debris.
- Maintenance of communal and residential outdoor areas.
- Maintenance of vacant properties to acceptable Eskom standards.
- Other horticultural maintenance activities issued through work orders.

Contract Delivery Model
The services will be performed on an as-and-when-required basis.
This means that the successful contractor will not necessarily perform work according to a fixed daily maintenance schedule. Instead, Eskom may issue individual work orders when horticultural or garden maintenance services are required.
The contractor must therefore have sufficient operational capacity to:
- Respond to Eskom work orders.
- Mobilise personnel and equipment when required.
- Manage varying workloads.
- Maintain service quality across different locations.
- Complete assigned work within the required turnaround times.
- Remain operationally ready throughout the five-year contract period.
CIDB Requirement
Tenderers must have a minimum CIDB contractor grading of 6SH or higher.
The SH classification relates to Special Works – Horticulture, making the CIDB grading a key eligibility requirement for contractors participating in this tender.
Contractors should ensure that their CIDB registration and grading are valid and meet the requirements stipulated in the official tender documentation.
